Airborne Soldiers are an enemy group within the Rebel Army.

These are enemy soldiers who attack in the air using a personal-sized device. Unlike Parachute Soldiers, Airborne Soldiers stay in the air.
Metal Slug: 1st Mission and Metal Slug: 2nd Mission[]
Airborne Soldiers wear a motorized, helicopter backpack and can fly through solid ground. They fire their pistols at the player in eight possible directions. Shooting at them breaks their propeller, and they fall to their deaths.
Metal Slug Attack[]
A subgroup called Special Airborne Soldiers use Jetpacks and wear clothing reminicent of Fio's standard uniform. They protect the RJ Bischof using their harsh training taught by Naomi.
The Special Airborne Soldiers fire homing missles from their AR-10. They support their allies by firing healing powder at the frontlines while deploying Bomb Crates that boosts attack power. Should the Special Airborne Soldiers be the frontmost unit, they will stay and attack in place even if enemy units walk past them. They will only retreat back when their special is activated.
