Apep "The Water Snake Monster"（水之魅影“阿佩普”）are one of the legendary monsters that inhabit the underground lake of the land of Kemut. and is the third boss fought in Metal Slug: Awakening.

The Water Snake Lord that rules the Kemut Underground River, moving around it like a ghost. It can use rocks in the river to attack enemies. thanks to the geographical advantage, it has never lost to anyone: whenever it's about to lose. it retreats underneath the river. of course, running away isn't the same as losing.
Monster snake about 10 meters in length; unpredictable and extremely ferocious. No one can measure its exact length. Preferences unknown.
In the past, ancient Kemuts worshiped the noble king of serpents for its blessings of water and sanctuary. But it realized humans only grew greedier the more they received. They exploited the land and encroached on the underground rivers - disciples turned into disruptors. Thus it came to the conclusion that their so-called civilization was nothing more than a primitive tribe, and human beings were nothing more than beasts.
