Drifting in Desert is the first mission from Metal Slug 2/X.
Mission Synopsis[]
The heroes' first mission is traveling through a fortified Middle Eastern town occupied by Rebel remnants. Rebel-allied Arabian Infantries take center stage in Metal Slug 2 with scant Rebel soldiers protecting a wall. In Metal Slug X, the Rebels take the frontlines while the Arabians attack from beyond the wall. In both games, Abul Abbas occasionally shows up to command his troops. Players will also get their first glimpse of the Mars People.
At the halfway point, a mosque's pillars begin to rise and attack with homing missiles. Destroying all three proceeds with finding the SV-Camel next to a fortified wall. After traveling a bit, Regimental Masknells swoop in; take care to hit the red one to eliminate all at once. Advance to the end of the stage to fight the The Keesi II (Metal Slug 2) or the Iron Nokana (Metal Slug X).
In Metal Slug 2, Hyakutaro Ichimonji is found hanging quite high right before the Mosque Artillery. In Metal Slug X, Rumi Aikawa is stationed inside of an M34 3-Ton Truck.
In Metal Slug X, the time of day was changed to night, with the sun rising at the boss area.
Prisoner Locations[]
There are ten POWs in both games.
