Eric McCanny is a character introduced in Metal Slug: Awakening. He serves as the final boss of Season 4's World Adventure.
Character Summery[]
The first mechanical life form on planet Mechanians was able to give Ice Pole stack technology on other mechanical life forms through the fusion element energy core within its body. He later became the leader of planet Mechanians. After Concerians occupied planet Mechanians, Eric, carrying the remaining Life Source, fell to Ice Pole. During an unprecedented storm, he met Caroline. He entrusted her with Life Source, extending her life and that of her children. Afterwards, the pursuing Concerians dragged away his body, burying it deep within Ice Pole. Concerians integrated the stolen Life Source into Vitins Ruins - Mechanical World Tree, retrofitting it into an Ice Source Activator.
Beneath the permafrost, Eric, who was resonating with Life Source, experienced a moment of clarity. He sent a distress video to the Andrew Town Command and transmitted the core data to Wizz, a Mechanians accidentally activated by Marco Rossi. Thus, a cross-planet collaboration began.

- His design bears a resemblance to the Gundams from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and Optimus Prime from Transformers
- It's likely that he is inspired by Optimus Prime from Transformers due to the Mechanians being similar to Cybertronians and having a very similar voice and design to Optimus.
