The Clone Incubator is a device used by the Martians to create clones, serving as a mini-boss in Metal Slug 3's final mission.
Information[]
Created by the Martians, the Clone Incubator is a large mass of what appears to be organic matter partially enveloping a small pod filled with fluids and a subject of their choosing inside. The incubator churns out large numbers of clones of the subject being held inside, depending on who was abducted by the Martians, relying on the host in order to survive.
Once the host is freed from the incubator, most, if not all of the clones will die off. The final production line of clones will corrupt and turn them into zombies.
The Clone Incubator also serves as an exit for the Rugname as the host leads the players past the incubator's back.
In Other Games[]
Metal Slug Attack[]
The Clone Incubator appeared and made a proper name in Metal Slug Attack, first appearing as the Extra Ops unit for 'Task Force 10th'.
It is built by a miner and uses modified sprites like several other Metal Slug series bosses. Similarly to the original game, the incubator defends itself by continually churning out clones, this time modified clones of Marco Rossi and Fio Germi, both of which are stronger than their standalone counterparts. The incubator's durability is further increased as its latter skills are unlocked, providing it with a passive recovery and resistance against explosive and incendiary attacks, which is also passed down to its clones. One of its skills also teaches the clones new tactics, allowing them to evade incoming attacks.

Trivia[]
- Should the player use the debug level select and select any area beyond the fight against the Hi-Do (where the Player 1's character is kidnapped), the Clone Incubator's host defaults to Marco even if they're playing as him. Oddly, zombie clones are Eri.
