The Flying Core an uncommon enemy introduced in Metal Slug 6.
A UFO-like weapon used by the Invaders that can use it's telekinesis ability to throw various objects at the player. The Flying Core will change to an orange color when doing deadlier attacks.
The Flying Core first appears near the end of Mission 3 revealing itself from the sewers. It will surround itself with garbage and debris to protect itself while it throw them one by one at the player. When it's at low health it will proceed to throw them all at once. Sometimes, it takes control of fish; shooting at them will free them and can be taken for points.
Those in the aerial sections of Mission 4 will throw meteors instead. If all meteors are destroyed it will change color and it will proceed to fire several slow energy shots in large quantities. The Flying Core will leave if left alone.
