The Iron Death Worm is the first boss from Metal Slug 7/XX.
Details[]
Morden used the Iron Death Worm to attack the incoming Regular Army soldiers. One attack includes using its drill to either dig up from the ground to hit the player(s) or to fire explosive debris at them. It can fly over the player(s) to fire turrets and rebel soldiers from its hatches of each segment. When hovering near the ground, the Iron Death Worm launches a saw that also throws explosive debris.
The Iron Death Worm's segments house Rebel infantries that attack from above then drop down to the battle arena. Twin turrets are deployed between segments.
The Iron Death Worm can be defeated by either depleting its health or by destroying every segment.
Once defeated, a cutscene will play showing Morden thrown out of one of Iron Death Worm's body segments by an explosion inside it.
In Other Games[]
Metal Slug Attack[]
The Iron Death Worm makes an appearance in "Metal Slug Attack", where it is given an official name. Unlike the original in Metal Slug 7, the drill primarily attacks by drilling out explosive debris and ramming enemies with its mass.
Trivia[]
- Its name is likely based on the Mongolian Death Worm.
- The tentacles of the final boss, Kraken, are recoloured versions of the Iron Death Worm sprite.
- The Iron Death Worm was known by fans as the "Worm Mecha" prior to its official name reveal in Metal Slug Attack, the name coming from its sprite files in Metal Slug 7/XX.
