The Marine Diver is an enemy in Metal Slug 3.

Information

The Marine Divers are a special aquatic unit used by the Rebel Army during the Third Modern War. The Rebel Marines used these suicide divers with the objective to secure the destruction of any Regular Army personnel or weapon when battling underwater. The Marine Divers are one of the most loyal troops of the Rebel Army, willing to sacrifice their lives to secure a better future for their faction. They receive one of the most special training from the Rebel Army and make some preparation rituals before diving.

They carry an oil drum on their back, which they will detonate when they get close enough to the player. They frequently dive in small groups to increase the probability of damaging the player or the Slug Mariner.

Trivia

• An unused variant of the U25U would've opened its hatch to deploy the Marine Divers instead of them simply sinking down from above the screen.
• These Divers are very similar to, and could be a subset of, the Rebel Fanatics in their suicidally fanatic loyalty to the Rebellion's cause.
• Their purpose resembles Depth Charges used in World War 2 to hunt Submarines.
