Missiles are a common obstacle appearing in every single Metal Slug game. They are lethal upon contact and can be destroyed or moved back by shooting at them. Missiles are used by a variety of enemies, enemy vehicles, Slugs, and special weapons.

Types of Missiles[]

Enemy Missiles[]

"Hovering Missile": A slow homing missile used by various enemy vehicles. Often fired in numbers to reduce player space.
"Aerial Hovering Missile": This missile is used by the Flying Tara and Eaca-B in limited quantities. The player can jump on the missile and bounce on it without being hurt.
"Fleet Hovering Missile": These missiles are used by the Jet Hammer-Yangs and are often launched in pairs. Unlike the Aerials, the Fleets have infinite ammo and fly upwards from the bottom of the screen.
TM-1 Missile: These missiles fly vertically from the bottom of the screen while others appear from horizontally from the side. It is the hardest one to destroy by bullets.
R-Shobu Missile: This missile is used as a secondary weapon by the R-Shobu.
Rocket Bomb: This missile is used by Rebel Fanatics and are indestructible. These slowly descend but firing at them lifts it upward equal to the weapon's strength.
Future Rocket Bomb: The Future Rebels use this weapon. Three of them are dropped and travel at fast speeds.
"Emergency Bazooka": The Di-Cokka driver fires a slow missile as a last ditch attack before fleeing.

Player Missiles[]

"Field Missile": The Rocket Launcher and Enemy Chaser uses this missile. When Fat, the Rocket Launcher missiles become slow and bulky versions of the Enemy Chaser missiles while the latter just turn bigger and retain their speed. Riding on the Metal Claw replaces the Melty Honey's missiles with Enemy Chaser missiles.
"Field Missile MKII": The Big Rocket Launcher uses this missile. It has double the firepower of the original Field Missile. When Fat, the Big Rocket Launcher's missile properties change to a slow homing missile although it retains its shape.
Slug Flyer Missile: The Slug Flyer's secondary weapon. When launched, it reels back a bit before flying at rapid speeds.
