Moltar's Legacy (摩罗遗训) is the fourth boss fought in Metal Slug: Awakening.
Information[]
An ancient stone monument located at the northeast desert in the land of Kemut. Tarma explains that it's been sitting in the desert untouched for millennia but has now been re-activated by the Rebel Army.
Unknown inorganic alien life. Fueled by electromagnetic energy. Likes carving and reading the stone tablet... and smashing anything it doesn't like with the tablet. An inorganic alien life that fell to earth thousands of years ago. Powered by the Volt Gem, this seemingly perpetual machine actually needs to be recharged. However, those aware of this secret have all been buried under the stele. This desert has been considered a forbidden zone of Kemut for millennia, and this fact is viewed as a commandment for desert survival.
Ever since Moltar became conscious, it couldn't help transcribing knowledge to stones. What mysterious power compels it to do this? Is it just a replica of silicon-based civilization? This sense of anxiety makes it want to stay by the stone to thoroughly find out what is happening to itself. And those who disturb it must all be driven out!
Boss Synopsis[]
Moltar's Legacy is fought in a similar fashion to the Monoeye UFO from Metal Slug 3. The first phase has the core fly in the middle while its surrounding crystals fire down energy spheres at the player. Unlike the Monoeyes, the crystals are invulnerable, so the player has to shoot the core. Once the core is damaged enough, it enters the main mechanical body and starts to drop down multiple monoliths and fire energy spheres from its center. Before a monolith is dropped, a beam of light appears above the player for a brief second.
