Nayutaro Ichimonji is a character introduced in Metal Slug Attack.
Character Summary[]
Nayutaro is the originator and master of the P.O.W combat arts, which is used by practitioners such as Hyakutaro Ichimonji and the other taros, having used it when bows and swords were used in war. He has lived for very long, although no one is sure as to his secret.
Like all P.O.W practitioners, Nayutaro infiltrates enemy positions by pretending to be a captured prisoner. Being the original founder of the P.O.W arts, Nayutaro is also capable of growing into a muscular opponent despite appearing malnourished, where he performs powerful punches and charges up energy blasts against the enemy. As with the other taros, if the battle becomes too dangerous for him, Nayutaro reverts to his normal size and flees.
While he lived a life of seclusion teaching his arts, upon learning of the failures of the Ichimonji school, he secretly returned to the battlefield to make his fighting arts known to the modern world.
Story[]
Extra Ops[]
First appearing in "United Front the 44th", Nayutaro infiltrates a Ptolemaic camp where he is discovered by Madoka Aikawa, who uses Howell's medicine to help him. Nayutaro thanks her and grows in a huge size to combat the enemy before asking her how much coins she wants. He easily overpowers them before reverting back to normal, refusing freedom, equipment or rewards from either side before returning back to normal and tying himself to a tree. While he does not require any assistance, he thanks Madoka for taking care of him before waiting for more enemies to arrive.

Trivia[]
- Unlike most P.O.W., Nayutaro Ichimonji doesn't have a beard, at least in his regular form.
- Nayutaro Ichimonji appears to be a reference to Master Roshi from Dragon Ball. He shares a similar appearance, both are masters of hand-to-hand combat, both are Martial Arts teachers, can transform in a muscled up body and have the ability to fire energy projections similar to the Kamehameha.
- Nayutaro's "bulk up" animation is very similar to Tung Fu Rue's bulk up animation in the Fatal Fury Series.
