Neso is a character introduced in Metal Slug: Awakening.
Character Summary[]
"Yes, Your Highness, mermaids do not exist."
Whether mermaids exist or not is none of merfolk's concern. Thinking so, Neso nodded firmly in her heart. We merfolks... No, our Atlaners never lie. At that time, the naïve girl didn't realize the existence of Atlan itself was a grand lie.
She devoutly, purely, day after day, dispelled curses, holding steadfast hope for the day when the curse would vanish, the divide between humans and Atlaners would dissolve, and she could plant the seed of adventure in any corner of the world, just like the "prince" who had ventured alone into the depths of the Midnight Triangle.
Story[]
World Adventure[]
Neso is a member of the Dolphins, a group of people from Atlan who patrol the waters near the Midnight Triangle to disperse the Black Magic Curse approaching the city and repair any weakpoints of their city's barrier. When Marco's Slug Mariner got caught by the black sludge of the curse, Neso rescued him and taken him to a nearby island. Unfortunately, the island was taken over by the Rebel Army.
Neso concealed herself with a hood to hide her Atlantian features as Marco is land folk. She slowly learned that Marco has a good heart. Soon, both Marco and Laura, a treasure hunter, discover Neso is a person from the city of Atlan, and they make their way through a secret passage in the island. Laura disbands for the local treasure as they arrive in Altan while Marco escorts Neso to her home safely where the waters are guarded by the Atlan forces. the two met up with Ajax and soon explore the Underwater Base operated by the Rebel Army, with the suspicion for being off-limits under the orders of the Archon only the realize that Anke had collaborated with Morden only for Neso to be captured and be sacrificed to the Ocean Heart.
during the final battle against Echo when Marco and Ajax was about to save her, Neso was about to get attack by Anke before Ajax saving her only for him to fall down along with Echo from the pool of Black Sludge and eventually Atlan is now free of the Black Magic Curse.

Game Information[]
Neso is one of the crew members boarding the Abyssal Cruise. Her blessing the Sea Djinn.
- Collecting two cards of her blessing causes the player to fire a Shark Turret water blast dealing 1000% damage after every 60 shots.
- Collecting four cards grants the chance of dropping magazines and activate an increase of Shot DMG by 30%.
- Collecting six cards reduces activation requirement to 30 shots.
