Return to Hong-Kong is the fourth mission of Metal Slug 2/X.
Mission Synopsis[]
This Chinese urban area has been taken over by the Rebels for use in their work. The heroes drop in to liberate the city.
In Metal Slug 2, this is the only mission where the heroes can become fat by eating a mass quantity of food items. Various food items come out of destroyed buildings, ferries, civilian cars, the waters, enemies and rewards from rescued prisoners in both games.
In Metal Slug X, in addition to the Rebels, the players will fight the Mars People in their Mini UFOs towards the end of the stage. The time of day was changed from sunset to morning.
Locations[]
- Downtown Hong-Kong: This is where the buildings and cars can be destroyed for items. The Morden Bus blocks the way to the dry creek.
- Dry Creek: This is where the Ferry Boat is stationed in Metal Slug 2, and where the Rocket Divers' wells are built in Metal Slug X.
- Wet Creek: The waters in this area can be shot for fish. Hyakutaro Ichimonji can also be found here.
- Shanty Town: An incline of houses that leads to the city's slum that lies outskirts. Martians show up as enemies earlier inside Mini-UFOs in Metal Slug X. This is where the Big Shiee awaits for the player at the end.

Presentation[]
This mission is notable for having major differences in its environment. There is less detail in Metal Slug X such as less cracks on the walls, some windows not reflecting, walls being straightened, and less products inside the markets. Other changes are more noticeable:
