A Rocket Diver or Well Soldier is an enemy in the Metal Slug series. They are an infantry unit of the Rebel Marines.

Information

Rocket Divers are aquatic infantry units wearing a bright yellow scuba diving gear and holding a large rocket from their back. They are often seen in low waters waiting for the enemy. As soon as the enemy is nearby, they'll jump from the water and toss their rockets. Some Rocket Divers are also found inside compact wells; this group are known as Well Soldiers.

In Metal Slug Defense, the Well Soldiers are available as a playable unit. To deploy them requires a Miner to build the well. If he's attacked during building, then he'll flee. They also return in Metal Slug Attack as 12000000 Well Soldiers, to celebrate the game's 12 million downloads.

Trivia

• Despite holding a knife in their official artwork, the Rocket Divers never use them as an attack in any appearance.
• The Rocket Divers are reminiscent of the first boss of Gunforce II, a game also created by the Metal Slug team. The pilot wears a similarly colored suit and mask and also tosses a large missile as an attack.
