The Rocket Launcher a special weapon in the Metal Slug series. It is represented by the icon .
Information[]
While not being able to provide enough penetration power to defeat heavy armor, these rockets are highly explosive and are very effective against masses of infantry. The rockets partially aim for the nearest foes then explode on contact. The Big Rocket Launcher fires bigger rockets that do more damage (seen below).
When Fat, the rockets turn into slow, homing fat bombs, which behave similarly to Enemy Chaser rockets but with slower speed, while the Big Rocket Launcher fires homing rockets instead (which use the same sprite as the non-Fat Big version).
Ammunition[]
A Rocket Launcher crate normally gives out 30 ammo from Metal Slug to Metal Slug 5.

Trivia[]
- The boss fight against the Tani Oh is the only time in the series where using a continue gives the player a different weapon (i.e. the Rocket Launcher) instead of a Heavy Machine Gun.
- The announcer from Metal Slug X through Metal Slug Advance humorously pronounces the weapon as "Rock-it Lawnchair" with a bad impression of the actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
