"Ruins Base" is the fifth mission of Metal Slug 7/XX.
Mission Synopsis[]
The heroes are dropped into a tall ruined building. Because of the large distance between floors, they must parachute their way down this deep tunnel. Be careful to not disengage early or else they will instead hit the bottom of the screen and die. Once the heroes enter a massive hallway, the Union ambushes from behind.
In Metal Slug XX, the Martians and their tech appear for this mission only. They are only seen at the credits in Metal Slug 7.
Locations[]
- Initial Route: A deep tunnel connected by a Warp Base. In Metal Slug 7, the second tunnel leads to the Outside Ruins. Metal Slug XX has two routes hidden at the very end of the route. All three routes converge in the end.
- Outside Ruins: Hallway that leads to a broken bridge with a great view of the Scrap Island waterfalls.
- Deeper Ruins: Another tunnel leading deeper into the dark depths of the ruins.
- Mars People Hallway: A long passageway filled with Mars People and Mini-UFOs.

- The Deeper Ruins second section has an unused, scuba-less underwater variant in Metal Slug 7 with a Slug Flyer to traverse the area with.
