"Secret Place" is the sixth and final mission of Metal Slug 4.
Mission Synopsis[]
The Regular Army finally arrives at the communications facility the Amadeus Syndicate is preparing to transmit the White Baby virus in. The heroes slowly descend a deep tunnel by a long rope in which they then see that the door to the mainframe is barred. They instead take the long road downwards. Rebels, Scientists, and the Amadeus Infantry attack from all sides. Morden lookalikes defend the final trek. After defeating Allen O'Neil, who is a robot fake, the heroes take the elevator all the way up to the mainframe where the Doctor awaits.
The President is found before entering the robot factory. For some reason, he can either show up sitting on top of the explosive barrel or the floating platform above it (which requires climbing the barrel).
Once the mother computers are destroyed, the communications facility begins to self destruct. Tarma and various Rebels are seen escaping through a hallway. Two endings occur if the heroes escape or not:
- Successfully escaping leads the heroes back to the vertical tunnel from the left door (which was previously barred), and Eri comes in to pick them up. The heroes are then seen engaging in a victory feast.
- The bad ending occurs when one player gets caught in the explosion. The screen fades to black which persists through the final tally. The heroes are then seen in bandages at a hospital.
Locations[]
- Vertical Tunnel: The heroes slowly descend from a long rope while various Rebels come from different balconies or parachute in from above. In this state, the heroes move faster vertically than horizontally. They also act like they're scuba diving, so they can only aim left or right.
- Downwards Hallway: A long hallway that leads into three different reactors. The SV-001 is found by pulling a crank after the third computer room.
- Hidden Robot Factory: A factory creating multiple androids. Allen O'Neil (who is actually a robotic copy) is fought here like in Metal Slug and Metal Slug 2 except that his knife attack knocks the heroes rather than killing them.
- Communications Facility Mainframe: The main area where the Doctor is transmitting the virus via one of his three mother computers.
- Back Exit: The final hallway where everyone is seen escaping from the incoming explosion.

Trivia[]
- In speedruns, the timer stops once the Doctor is defeated. For tool-assisted speedruns, time stops at the last input before the heroes leave the exploding hallway by themselves.
