The Space Tank is a Rebel vehicle first appearing in Metal Slug 2.
Information[]
The Space Tank is a vehicle constructed by the Rebels for Donald Morden with extraterrestrial technology and extremely thick armor. Morden uses this as his personal transport. The upper alien saucer body resembles a Dai-Manji, although much smaller, and it is mounted on a tank chassis resembling that of a Sarubia's.
It first appears in Metal Slug 2/X where it was quickly destroyed by the Martians. In Metal Slug 3, it is depicted to be able to fly despite its poor condition with several Rebels in Mini-UFOs in tow.
In Metal Slug 6, if the player rides the Slug Flyer instead of Rootmars in Mission 4, Morden and his tank are the player's saviors after defeating the Invader King.
Variants[]
Space Tank: The original floating tank saucer. In Metal Slug Defense and Metal Slug Attack, Morden can call in a Hi-Do to carpet bomb the battlefield.
Red Space Tank: A modified version of Morden's beloved transport painted red. It is still piloted by Morden. Rather then calling in a Hi-Do, he calls in red missiles which fly horizontally straight to overwhelm his enemies.
Golden Space Tank: A modified version of Morden's beloved transport painted gold and still piloted by Morden. It is capable of flight, hovering above the ground. Like its red counterpart, Morden also calls in missiles, this time crashing straight into the ground from above and generating fireballs on impact.
Space Tank (Amadeus): An Amadeus Syndicate-built version of the Space Tank. Since Amadeus' machines are piloted by robots/AI, the Valerian Bear Rosa operates the tank. It works similarly to the Golden Morden version.
Space Tank (X-Mas): A Christmas-themed variant that acts similarly to the Red Devil version, attacking the enemies with missiles. Unlike the other Space Tanks, the missiles are fired from the tank itself. Anyone can pilot this saucer. Appears in Metal Slug Infinity as an SSR Slug.
Pretty Space Tank: A modified version of Morden's beloved transport decorated by fans of Morden's dainty appearance. It is still piloted by Morden, albeit now a young girl due to a confrontation with the Professor. Aside from his bazooka having a prolonged explosion, Morden summons Morden Robots attached to a Di-Cokka chassis, and the tank itself is rigged to explode onto enemy positions when critically damaged. |
