The Tail Slug is a Regular Army vehicle introduced in Metal Slug Attack.
Information[]
The Tail Slug is a quadruped vehicle with threads on the end of its legs and moves by placing itself prone. When idle or attacking, it pushes upwards. The vehicle's namesake comes from its tail-like lift where a large battery is located on its end. Moving the battery requires complex maneuvering techniques. There are also six smaller concealed weapons at the front legs.
The Tail Slug is developed by the Metal Device Project, a subsection of the Regular Army. Despite its unique properties, it is not considered a next generation tank, but the vehicle's rear-mounted battery is a step forward of new ideas for future weapons. The M.D.P. were later able to automate the battery leading to a mass-production of the Tail Slug for ordinary Regular Soldiers.
Before mass-production began, Quaith test piloted the Tail Slug. Her Tail Slug's missiles are all enhanced with electricity by its battery, and all attacks leave out electrical residue when it hits the ground. The battery's central missile contains Trench Extermination Shells that stick to the ground for a few moments before exploding. The electricity can stun enemy units. Quaith's Tail Slug can also generate a barrier that reduces damage from kinetic and incendiary attacks.
The mass-produced version replaces the missiles with lasers. The Tail Slug's legs fire out six thin lasers, while the mounted battery fires a constant laser that automatically tracks the nearest enemy. Units hit by any of the lasers have their attack speed reduced.
