The Beginning is the End

"The Beginning is the End" is the seventh and final mission of Metal Slug 7/XX.

Mission Synopsis[]

The heroes' final stop is a Rebel base situated inside more scrap surrounding Scrap Island's volcano. The Future Rebels go all out protecting this base as their method of transport has yet to bring in their great weapon. Once the Big Gate is destroyed, the great weapon exits at the last moment taking a defeated Morden with it. The heroes fend against the remaining present-day Rebels up to the volcano's crater where the Kraken is situated.

Locations[]

Base Entrance: A descent into the main scrap pile. In Metal Slug 7, a Slug Flyer is present at the very start. Metal Slug XX replaces it with an SV-001 and a Slug Armor; the latter Slug is only available in two-player mode.
Scrap Tunnel: A hallway full of scrap. Be wary of gaps between elevating platforms. The Big Gate is found at the end. Hyakutaro stops following the player after the Big Gate is destroyed.
Highest Base: An ascent up the volcanic base fighting off present-day Rebels. Between this area is a ceiling that must be destroyed before moving on.
Volcanic Crater: The players fight the Kraken at the lava pool. Various pieces of scrap float around for the players to jump on.
