Utan, or simply Monkey, is a character from Metal Slug: Awakening.

"As you walk down the bustling main street of Andrew Town in broad daylight, suddenly you hear a monkey's screech; and the next second, something leaps at your face... But don't worry, this is definitely not a safety issue, nor a prank. What you're seeing now is our Chest Recommender, Mr. Utan..." This exaggerated ad copy was eventually scrapped, but the plan to have monkey Utan as the Chest Recommender went surprisingly smoothly.
People marveled at how this seemingly ordinary monkey seemed to read minds, always recommending the most appropriate products at the right time. In the face of big data, gimmicks and advertising indeed became less important.
Game Information[]
Utan is one of monkeys roaming the Andrew Industrial Districts. He is seen flying with a jetpack at the player and give rewards to them. This reward is followed by a promotion for a pack bundle at the Shop.
Utan is one of the crew members at the Abyssal Cruise along with Neso, Ajax and Djinn, and some of the Andrew Town staff such as Madoka Aikawa.
