The Vulcan Fix is an added control scheme introduced in the Neo Geo CD version of Metal Slug: Super Vehicle-001. It is available in most home conversions of the MVS games although it is turned off by default.
The Vulcan Fix locks a Slug's Vulcan position when holding down the fire button, allowing the Slug to move around without affecting the Vulcan's rotation. The Vulcan Fix also provides Auto-Fire for all Slugs. The Vulcan unlocks once the player lets go of the fire button.
In Metal Slug 6 and Metal Slug 7/XX, this is Tarma's special ability. The Protogunner and Rootmars Slug has a built-in Vulcan Fix that any character can use.
