"Windy Day" is the second mission of Metal Slug 5.
Mission Synopsis[]
After their successful counterattack on the Corridor of Fire, the heroes leave the jungle and arrive near a Ptolemaic base up the mountains. The heroes barge their way in, eliminate the aggressive security, and destroy the production of Ptolemaic vehicles. They leave the now rundown base with the Slug Flyer as a job well done, but it's not over yet as the Shooting Ray flies in at the skies and starts to fight.
Locations[]
- Mountain Ridge: The top of the mountains with rickety bridges, open gaps, and snipers. The SV-001 stops before entering the base.
- Front Base: A small hallway that ends with the heroes taking an elevator. The Commander is first seen here.
- Elevator: The elevator malfunctions, and the heroes are quickly brought to the bottom most floor. Wall Drones climb down with rapid speed and attack. Eliminate them all to advance.
- Main Base: The heroes climb their way back up the base while destroying the rest of the production lines.
- Hangar: Deployment area for the Hover Units. The heroes leave using the Slug Flyer.
- Skies: The fight against the Shooting Ray takes place here. Destruction of the Slug Flyer has the heroes use their jetpack instead.
Prisoner Locations[]
There are seven POWs in this stage. "Great!" bonus is impossible in single player.

- This mission is listed as the third mission according to the Shooting Ray's official concept art. The game's debug level select refers to it as the fourth boss/mission.
- The cutscene of the Natives and the mysterious mask is listed in the debug level select as part of this mission instead of Mission 1.
